The Banquet

The Annual Banquet of the College of Surgeons will be a time honoured affair, held in the grand tradition of an Old English sitdown dinner. This black tie event will be the social pinnacle of the Congress calendar, where members will don their finest tuxedos and suits to gather for an evening of refined celebration.

Beyond the fine dining and formalities, the Banquet will serve as a moment to reflect and speak about the Congress—its highlights, scientific achievements, and the spirit of collegial exchange that defines the gathering. It will also be the occasion when the College formally introduces the new President for the upcoming term, marking a graceful transition of leadership in the presence of the surgical community.

Guests will be treated to a five or six course gastronomic journey, accompanied by the finest wines and spirits. Following the meal, the night will continue with the traditional “Sit Down Dinner” session—a period of toasts, speeches, and cordiality that harkens back to the great surgical colleges of London and Edinburgh. It will be an evening of elegance, camaraderie, and respect for the heritage of surgery.
